Yearly Weather Guide
Barcelona is situated in northern Spain, so the summer temperatures are cooler than you will find in many of the well know Spanish hotspots. In the peak of summer, you can only expect to the temperature to reach 26°C or 27°C and it is a little more humid than you would find in southern Spain. Winter is a little cooler too, but temperatures are normally in the double figures.
When visiting in the winter months, bring a jacket and warm clothing, especially for night times. Some waterproof clothing and an umbrella may also be a good idea, especially in January and February, as when it rains it is normally quite heavy, but luckily, it only lasts a short duration.
If you intend to visit Barcelona, I personally think the best times of the year are April, May and September. During these months, the temperatures are pleasant, the rainfall is low and there are plenty of days with blue sky. June, July and August are nice, but there are a lot more tourists, so the buses and Metro are more crowded, and it is hard to take nice photos when people get in your way.
Below you will see a few tables with climate information by months. These should give you a good idea of the weather for the month you are travelling. If you are looking to visit the coast and go swimming, the sea temperature is a good guide; otherwise, the minimum and maximum temperatures, and rainfall are the most useful indicators.
